This more than 130 year-old artwork was created by Tina Blau in 1882. The piece of art was made with the size 214 x 291 cm - dimensiuni cadru: 267 x 340 x 16 cm. Further, the alignment is landscape and has a ratio of 4 : 3, which means that lungimea este cu 33% mai lungă decât lățimea. Tina Blau was a painter, whose artistic style was primarily Realism. The Realist artist was born in the year 1845 in Vienna and passed away at the age of 71 în anul 1916.

The "Spring in the Prater" is Tina blue undisputed masterpiece and the largest painting, painted by the artist during their lifetime. In a letter to August Schaeffer dated 19 January 1900 (today Tina Blau-estate, New York) reported the artist that they have painted the picture 1881/82. The jury of the first International Art Exhibition of the Vienna Künstlerhaus 1882 initially wanted to reject the image as it was and in the eyes of the hanging committee to light everywhere a "hole in the wall" would make. Only the intervention of Hans Makart, the image was still accepted. The following year, it became the Fine Arts, Antonin Proust, issued at the initiative of the French Minister at the Paris Salon, where it received a "mention honorable". The image was first purchased by collectors F. W. Crone. As part of the collective exhibition Tina blue in the gallery Pisko 1899 the picture was finally acquired for the Imperial Art Gallery.
